Every enrolled patient is placed in one group each year. Dialysis and death are counted once they have happened. There is no 2022 (BE 2565) review in the source records.
Starting kidney function
Groups are defined by the eGFR at enrolment. Groups with fewer than 10 patients are merged, so stage G2 and G3a are shown together.
How eGFR changes over follow-up
eGFR (mL/min/1.73 m²) by years since enrolment, grouped by the eGFR at enrolment.
Average yearly decline from the model
Linear mixed model: each patient has their own starting level and their own slope. Decline is the average fall in eGFR per year. Individual slopes vary much more than the group averages do.
How fast does eGFR fall for each patient?
Each patient's rate is (first eGFR − last eGFR) ÷ years between them, for patients followed at least one year. A positive number is a fall. A rate of 4 mL/min/1.73 m² per year or less is counted as slower decline.
Distribution of yearly decline
Decline of 4 or less per yearDecline of more than 4 per year
Share declining 4 or less per year, by starting eGFR
All patients followed at least one year.
Time to death or dialysis
Kaplan-Meier estimate of the chance of still being alive and not on hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis, counted from enrolment. Patients lost to follow-up are censored at their last eGFR.
Alive and free of dialysis
Curves stop when fewer than 10 patients remain at risk. Shaded bands are approximate 95% confidence intervals.
Estimates by starting eGFR
Percent free of death or dialysis at 1, 3 and 5 years, with 95% confidence interval.
Methods, definitions and limits
Data source and cleaning
Yearly clinic review lists from the VjRCKD project (sheets for 2564 and 2566 to 2569 BE, plus the registry of everyone enrolled by 2564). No sheet exists for 2565 BE.
Dates were recorded in the Buddhist Era and sometimes mixed with the Christian Era or mistyped. They were converted to CE and corrected where the intended date was clear. The few uncertain dates are logged.
The same hospital number listed twice was treated as one patient. Rows copied forward from an earlier year with no new date or eGFR are not counted as new visits.
Free-text notes were turned into one status: attending (F/U), death, hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, lost to follow-up, refused renal replacement, or out of clinic.
Definitions
Starting eGFR groups: 45 or more (stage G2–G3a), 30 to 44 (G3b), under 30 (G4–G5).
Attending: a new eGFR recorded in that year and status F/U.
Not followed: lost to follow-up, out of clinic, refused dialysis, or no new eGFR that year.
Death or dialysis: whichever came first. Many dialysis dates are the last clinic visit before dialysis, not the exact start.

This page holds summary numbers only. It contains no names, hospital numbers, patient codes or row-level data.
Any group with fewer than 10 patients is hidden or merged. Counts below 10 appear as "<10".
Limits to keep in mind
Survivors only at later times. Patients who died or started dialysis leave the eGFR trend, so late values look better than they would for everyone.
Lost to follow-up is not random. Some of these patients may have died or started dialysis elsewhere. The survival estimates assume they carry the same risk as those still attending.
Regression to the mean. Groups are set by the first eGFR, so the highest group tends to appear to fall faster partly by chance.
Small groups. Estimates for the 45-or-more group rest on 34 patients and have wide intervals.
